July Giveaway Starts Today... Best Wishes Bird!

Hello and welcome!
Happy Independence Day... probably a day late as I am writing this the evening of July 4th!

This is hopefully a quick post about the July giveaway (see how to enter below) and a quick card that's for sale at the arts and crafts fair called Friday Fling in Palmer, Alaska!

My card is pretty simple in that it has some blue glitter washi tape on the side and a simple stamped image from the set by WPlus9 called "It's a New Day". I colored it with Zig Clean Color Brush Pens and it was a practice piece for using these and getting blending down. Not sure I accomplished the correct blending but I am practicing! I left the branch uncolored to give the bird center stage and you can't see by this photo but he's sparkly with Wink of Stella glitter pen. I added a sentiment from the set that is mislabeled and it was from a blog hop I won a lot of stamps in so I'll have to add the company name when I find out! If you recognize the set please leave me a comment below and tell me (and that will be an entry into the giveaway too!!). I, of course, used Gina K Designs base weight card stock as my base for this card!

July giveaway: Heidi Swapp stencil; Technique Tuesday: Learn Something by Ali Edwards stamp set; Gossamer Blue stamp set from January 2014 main kit; Quickutz/Lifestyle Crafts Dainty Doily 4" x 4" die; and multi-color sequins.

June Giveaway Winner... and Galaxy Anniversary Card!

Hello and welcome!

I know I've been absentee for the last two weeks since I put up the June giveaway post but life has been crazy busy for the last two weeks after getting home from vacation and trying to catch up. Not that I've caught up but it will be less busy... I think... I hope!

My 32nd wedding anniversary was June 16th and the card shown is the card I made for my husband! I started with Ranger watercolor card stock and taped a 1-1/2" circle stencil over it on a Ranger craft mat. Then I used Wendy Vecchi translucent embossing paste and did uneven thickness over the stencil to make it seem more like planets or moons with craters on the surface. I let this air dry and used Ranger Distress Inks in Black Soot, Dusty Concord, and Blueprint Sketch over the planets/moons, concentrating the black around the edges. I also used a fairly dry foam pad over the planets/moons to color them gray. Then I splatter several Ranger Distress Paints in pearl white, picket fence, silver, Perfect Pearls for shimmer and black to add depth and splatters. Finally, using my MISTI tool, I stamped a Neat & Tangled set called "A Long Time Ago" (that I won in a blog hop!!) and finished the inside with the sentiment... "We Got Married"! It was fun and well received!

And now the winner of my June blog giveaway from my Instagram post is...

CHIKASCRAP AKA ISABEL

Congratulations, Isabel! I've messaged you for your mailing information! Thanks to everyone who liked, posted and commented! My next giveaway will be in July around the first!

Thanks for stopping by and God bless you!

June Giveaway Starts Today & Father's Day Pine Branches!

Hello and welcome!

I'm home from my two weeks vacation down south in California and Nevada! I had a FABULOUS time with family and even got to bring my 7 year old grandson, Logan, home to Alaska for a one month visit! That has made his Grandpa and I very happy!

My cards today are a few of the Father's Day cards I'm getting ready to sell at the Palmer, Alaska Friday Fling and Colony Days celebration this weekend! I painted with acrylics the pine branches and pine cones using the One Stroke method of painting on Gina K Designs kraft card stock. Then I spattered two of the card fronts with some brown and black distress ink over the painting. I inked two of the cards sides with brown distress ink and stamped the sentiments with Technique Tuesdays "Swanky Sentiments" set. The third [top] card I didn't spatter or ink the sides... it's a one layer card. On the bottom card I used I used Ranger's Glossy Accents to make the sentiment look highlighted and look 3D.

I'm a little late in starting this month's giveaway but I'll make it run for two weeks so there's plenty of time to enter! Here's the giveaway picture and description:

JUNE GIVEAWAY: Studio Calico "Message in a Bottle" stamp set (one stamp missing), Sizzix/Stampin' Up Finial Press embossing folder, Stampin' Up Stamp a-ma-jig (used but still very functional), Creative Memories Scallop corner punch, QuicKutz Nesting Dies Inverted Ovals (8 dies).

GIVEAWAY WINNER... and CHEERS!

 Hello and welcome!

Yes, we have a winner of May's blog post giveaway!! But first...

My cards! I sent these two cards to my sisters because I am getting together with them (and our brother) in Nevada in a week (I leave in a few hours to fly south!!!).

I love these Art Obsession "Wine Diva" ladies together and tried to make them like us (although we are more gray than blond these days) and of course, we are toasting each other! The inside sentiment is from the same set and says "At our age we need glasses... lots and lots of glasses!" and I crossed out "at our age" and added "on our road trip" instead!

I used the Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens for my color on watercolor paper that I stamped the image on using my MISTI (Most Incredible Stamp Tool Invented). The MISTI really helps when you are stamping on rough watercolor paper because getting a good image is hard the first time around.

I backed these two cards with black and white diagonal or piano keyboard paper and some strips of black glitter tape at the bottom! My middle sister, Debbie, said she got her's today... and she called me silly for sending it! LOL

And now the winner of the May blog giveaway is...

REGINA RIOUX

who I happen to know from Haines! She liked my post and it was an easy entry too! Congratulations Regina!

My June blog giveaway will be starting late because I don't return from vacation until June 2nd but I will let it run a little longer to make up for the delay!

Thanks for stopping by and God bless!
