July Giveaway Winner...and Motorcycle Masculine Cards!

Hello and welcome!

I have the July giveaway winner to announce and some masculine cards to share with you!

First off, the winner of the July giveaway is none other than...

SIMPLYNEADERS

who liked my Instagram post about the giveaway! Yes, it's that easy to enter my monthly giveaways! Be sure to stick around for the August giveaway that starts August 1st!!

My cards have definite masculine tendencies to them from a FABULOUS kit by Close to My Heart called "URBAN" that I won from a blog hop! I don't use patterned paper very often but I adore the paper in this kit! The stamp set is AWESOME to say the  least! So grungy and rad for both boys and men! It has some extra fun pieces like the buttons (second card from top) and twine (not shown on any card) besides the paper pack and it's hard to choose which side of the paper to use since both sides are the bomb! The "Stoked", arrows in circles, >>>>>>, "one way", "or another" arrows, criss-cross border, "boys will be boys" and "EPIC" are all stamps in this kit! The motorcycle stamp is not from the kit but one I purchased in my local stamp shop and it's by Deep Red called "Hardtail Motorcycle". It went perfectly with this whole kit and I will be using it with this paper in the future!

Thanks so much for stopping by and God bless!

June Giveaway Starts Today & Father's Day Pine Branches!

Hello and welcome!

I'm home from my two weeks vacation down south in California and Nevada! I had a FABULOUS time with family and even got to bring my 7 year old grandson, Logan, home to Alaska for a one month visit! That has made his Grandpa and I very happy!

My cards today are a few of the Father's Day cards I'm getting ready to sell at the Palmer, Alaska Friday Fling and Colony Days celebration this weekend! I painted with acrylics the pine branches and pine cones using the One Stroke method of painting on Gina K Designs kraft card stock. Then I spattered two of the card fronts with some brown and black distress ink over the painting. I inked two of the cards sides with brown distress ink and stamped the sentiments with Technique Tuesdays "Swanky Sentiments" set. The third [top] card I didn't spatter or ink the sides... it's a one layer card. On the bottom card I used I used Ranger's Glossy Accents to make the sentiment look highlighted and look 3D.

I'm a little late in starting this month's giveaway but I'll make it run for two weeks so there's plenty of time to enter! Here's the giveaway picture and description:

YOU Rock... really you do!

Hello and welcome! You'd think with me having more days off I could blog more but that doesn't seem to be the case! And I'm getting ready to head down south for a week tomorrow so I thought I'd get this card onto the blog!

I'm always searching for a masculine type card to make and stars are always a good starting point! I used a Joggles "Shooting Stars" stencil and inked it with Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean and Black Soot distress inks onto white heavy weight Neenah Solar White card stock, blending an ombre effect downwards. Then while the stencil was still on I sprayed it with Perfect Pearls shimmer. Afterwards I used some Adirondak metallic silver paint dabber, Mermaid Lagoon and Black Soot Distress inks and watered them down to a "splashing" consistency and splattered the card stock. I stamped the ROCK (a clear stamp from an obscure and unknown company) with Versafine Black ink and filled it in (since it was originally outlined letters) with a Copic fine line pen and then made it shimmery with a Wink of Stella pen. I die cut the Avery Elle "Simply Said YOU" die from silver glitter paper and adhered it down with the Ranger multi medium in matte finish. Then I popped the whole panel up with black foam onto Gina K Designs base weight black card stock.

I wanted to add sequins or something else but anything else I thought to add would hamper the masculine part so I left it as is! Now I need a man to send it too! Possibly my brother's birthday in February!

Thanks for sticking with me and I'll see you after October 28th when I'm back in Alaska! I'll leave you with this moose calf photo... fattening up for winter alongside the road on my way to work the other day!
