Birthday Wishes Bird... October Giveaway Winner!

Hello and welcome,

I'm still waiting for the October giveaway winner to contact me... so you may still have a chance at winning it if I don't hear from her by Thursday, October 27th! I've emailed her and am waiting to hear from her!

*******UPDATED: WINNER IS MARIE FLAYER AKA NJSTAMPING QUEEN********

This card was hard to come by because I'm terrible at multi-layer stamping! It took several tries to figure out how to do it for me! Personally, I do light to dark in stamping... lightest ink is the bottom layer (the most solid layer) with darkest ink on top (usually the sketchiest details). That's probably how you're supposed to do it anyway but I needed to learn that for myself by doing it multiple times!

This card combines three different stamps from Hero Arts (bird), Altenew (branch) and Papertrey Ink (sentiment). And inks from Hero Arts, Stampin' Up, Ranger and Gina K designs. It was worth the effort because I think it turned out very nice for a fellow co-worker/friend!

I'll let you know next weekend if I have to pick another winner! It could be you! ;)

  1. Hi Kris ~ Your card truly turned out beautifully!! I've always struggled with multi-step stamping too but I have to admit that the "newer" stamps sets are easier to use for this technique. In the beginning with wooden stamps it was so much more difficult to line up. Your co-worker will absolutely treasure this gift. ~HUGS~

  2. I think everyone struggles till they figure out the way that works best for them! For me, some stamps work lightest first and some work darkest first - and I try it out each time on scrap paper before working on the actual card! But you've done a fabulous job on the stamping, Alaska! The bright blue looks gorgeous, like a gem on the card!! And I love how you've split the card into thirds too! Fabulous! Thank you so much for joining us over at Seize the Birthday!!

  4. Blues are my favorite colors! You did an outstanding job of multi stamping with this multitoned bird. Just gorgeous! The blue glitter trim is the perfect accent on the top of the card. Thanks for playing along with us at ATSM blog again this week and inspiring us.
